After promising earlier this year that it is going to hold at least one more technical preview for Halo Infinite, the developers just announced that two more Halo Infinite technical previews are going to happen this weekend and the next.

More details on the next Halo Infinite technical previews

The latest Halo installment was scheduled to launch alongside the Xbox Series S/X consoles back in 2020. However, due to the fan backlash over the game’s incomplete state and overall quality, 343 Industries decided to push the game’s release back to a later date. After a mostly successful initial technical preview in July, 343 confirmed that Infinite is going to arrive on December 8, 2021. Now, more fans are going to have a chance to give Halo Infinite a try months before it releases over the course of the next two weekends. Following up on their statement earlier this month, 343 confirmed that it will hold two technical previews for Halo Infinite. The first preview will kick off on September 23 (Thursday). However, 343 will limit the matchmaking from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM EST. Meanwhile, the second technical preview will go live on September 30 with the same time slot restrictions applying to the matchmaking schedule except for the Monday timeslot. Both upcoming technical previews will continue everything that was part of the last one. For both weekends, players will get a chance to test the 4v4 arenas. However, those who take part in the second weekend are in for a big surprise. 343 will let players test out 12v12 Big Team Battle by then. It’s worth noting that even if 343 does limit matchmaking times for both weekends, players can still access training mode and weapon drills anytime throughout the technical preview. According to Halo community manager John Junyszek, limiting the matchmaking to a particular timeframe allows 343 to test the game’s servers under heavy loads and traffic. Because all invited players will have to log in at the same time, 343 wants to see how much traffic the game’s servers can handle. — Geoff Keighley (@geoffkeighley) September 21, 2021 Halo Infinite remains one of the most highly anticipated games coming this holiday season. Despite the year-long delay, fans are still looking forward to getting their hands on it. These technical previews will go a long way towards giving players something to sink their teeth into ahead of the game’s release. In addition to making audiences happy, these tests will give 343 valuable information. Halo Infinite is up against heavy competition later this year. Before it arrives in December, players will have had a chance to play Call of Duty: Vanguard and Battlefield 2042 already. Thus, 343 will want to make sure that Halo Infinite releases in a relatively complete state and can compete with the other AAA shooters on the market.
