After years of waiting, Nintendo finally revealed when Bayonetta 3 will come out along with a new trailer and more details about the threequel. The latest trailer for Bayonetta 3 sees the Umbra Bitch team up with “other” Bayonettas to go up against a giant Homunculi. Also, Bayonetta 3 will introduce a new playable character, Viola, who looks very much like a female version of Nero from the Devil May Cry franchise. Are we going to see a passing of the torch moment in Bayonetta 3? Maybe, maybe not. We will find out more as soon as Bayonetta 3 comes out on the Nintendo Switch on October 28. PlatinumGames’ action-adventure franchise might be known for its high-octane action but the highly sexualized body of the protagonist and other characters is also a staple. This isn’t going away anytime soon, but Nintendo and PlatinumGames found a middle-ground for the “less mature” audiences.

The new Naïve Angel mode censors the more risque content of Bayonetta 3. The studio explains that the new mode is the best for the “family room” and other moments when you do not know who else is watching you play the game and you don’t want them to bother you with questions about why you’re playing as a half-naked lady fighting against creatures who seem to have a similar aversion to clothing. We’ll find out more if this will make Bayonetta 3 sell better or not, but it is interesting that PlatinumGames added the feature. The official release date for Bayonetta 3 proves that the earlier leaks were not a dud. On top of Bayonetta 3, the Nintendo Switch will also welcome new games later this year as well like Persona 5, NieR: Automata. We have also heard reports that a Metroid Prime Remaster and Skyrim Anniversary Edition will be available on Nintendo’s hybrid console in the next few months.
