Once fans became antsy, Santa Monica Studio went ahead and finally gave the highly anticipated sequel a release date of November 9, 2022. But, with only a few months to go before it comes out, fans are worried that Sony might delay one of its biggest exclusives again. After all, it wouldn’t be the first a PlayStation exclusive will be pushed back to 2023.

Having said that, it appears that God of War: Ragnarok’s producer, Cory Barlog, wants fans to worry less about a potential delay. In a statement on Twitter, Barlog told fans that there will be “no delay” and to “be cool.” It’s not clear what encouraged Barlog to send out the initial tweet out of nowhere. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if Barlog just wanted to kill the toxicity among the gaming community. It’s no secret that God of War fans have become entitled as they push to get more footage of the game. We wouldn’t put it past Barlog to try and give fans a reason to stay calm in the meantime, especially in light of the recent announcement that Death Stranding is coming to the Game Pass (for the PC).

just saying, to no one in particular… be cool. — cory barlog (@corybarlog) August 20, 2022 Then again, Barlog could be talking about something else. The BAFTA-winning video game developer didn’t flat out mention God of War: Ragnarok in his tweet. At the end of the day, fans shouldn’t get too riled up about potential delays. 2018’s God of War was the best-selling game for the PS4. It takes a herculean effort to try and match up to it let alone exceed the award-winning game. If anything else, Santa Monica Studio more than deserves all the time and peace that it needs to polish God of War: Ragnarok ahead of its November release. It’s best for fans to leave Santa Monica Studio alone to do its work. Besides, it’s not like PlayStation fans have nothing to look forward to in the meantime. Case in point, The Last of Us Part 1 and Valkyrie Elysium are set to come out next month. Also, it’s believed that Sony will hold a State of Play event before the month ends, or otherwise September at the latest.
