Long and drawn-out storylines have been back on the menu ever since Triple H took over as the WWE’s chief content officer and this is definitely leading up to a potential father-son match in the near future, presumably at WrestleMania in April. Judging by Dominik’s latest tweet (authorities took him away but Ripley bailed him out), we haven’t seen the last of this family squabble. In fact, Dominik wants to up the ante by having his father and mother put behind bars for some reason. It’ll be interesting to see what will come of this but we’re pretty sure the ending will be very bittersweet. We’ll find out more about what’s going to happen next when WWE returns with new shows on Friday, December 30.
— WWE (@WWE) December 25, 2022 A long-time babyface, courtesy of his legendary luchador father, pairing Dominik with the trio of Ripley, Finn Balor, and Damian Priest is the perfect way to turn him into a heel in an instant. We can’t believe it took the WWE this long to use Dom in a story against his father, whom, we all know, is a fan-favorite and a future Hall of Famer. Dominik and Rey have never fought against each other ever since the former signed with the WWE in 2019. Rey has hinted before that he’d love to share “a WrestleMania moment” with Dominik as he goes off to the sunset. Judging from the way things are going, the WWE is setting up Rey with his dream retirement match in a few months. As we’ve mentioned, it’ll feel bittersweet seeing a legend like Rey go but if he passes on the mantle, literally, to Dominik, then it’s the perfect way to go. Speaking of WrestleMania 39, other potential matches rumored for April include John Cena vs Logan Paul, Roman Reigns vs The Rock, and another bout for Stone Cold.
