In particular, the Call of Duty team is bringing in new content for Season 4 of Vanguard as well as Warzone and most especially, the Zombies mode. After leaving Zombies players in the cold in Season 3, the devs are making it up big with the return of the classic round-based Shi No Numa map. According to Activision, the Vanguard Season 4 update will go live on June 22 at 9:00 AM PT / 12:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM BST. The arrival of the Zombies update should give players something to chew on as it will bring back a beloved World at War Zombies map. If nothing else, Zombies players should return in droves if only for nostalgia’s sake as well as newer players, to find out what the fuss is all about. Hype aside, a round-based map is something that Zombies players have asked for months and it’s nice to know that the developers are finally listening. Older players will love seeing staples of Shi No Numa such as the zipline, the Flogger, and the Electro-Shock Defenses. Here’s everything else you need to know about the Vanguard Zombies Season 4 update:
Shi No Numa will bring a Main Quest Easter Egg and a new Wonder Weapon. According to the devs, the incoming update will ask players to “journey on a multi-step quest culminating in a devastating battle.” Those who complete the quest will receive a unique Calling Card. Several side quests are coming to Vanguard Zombies as part of the Season 4 launch.
Speaking of Call of Duty, this month has been filled with Call of Duty news. For example, we just found out that Modern Warfare 2 is coming back to Steam and that it will be the first to use a new and unified Call of Duty engine going forward. Also, despite being expected to support Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 for the better part of the next two years, Infinity Ward has just been spotted hiring for a new RPG game.
