When the countdown seen from the top of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier ran out, Galactus, whose big hat was an ominous mainstay of the horizon, got off his cosmic butt and started marching towards the Island. Once he got near, he swept across the entire map with one immense arm knocking players up into the air, commencing the event. Tony Stark zooms in, giving players jetpacks to survive into the next bit. After a very fancy scripted animation plays of Galactus ripping the Zero Point - a big glowing ball thing that was in the center of the island, apparently representing the collapsed matter from the black hole at the end of Chapter 1 - out of the ground and starting to absorb it. The situation is once again ex machina’d by Tony Stark who gives a handwavy explanation of altering reality, spawning a fleet of battle busses that are somehow also bombs, and that you need to force feed Galactus these busses before he consumes the Zero Point. Got it? Got it. This is where we reach the rail-shooter portion of the event. Galactus exudes a swarm of attack drones, at which point you are given control of the laser turret on the battle bus with which you need to blow them out of the sky as you make your way to Galactus’ mouth. The scenery changes at one point where you enter a trench running along his arm. If you are reminded of the trench run from A New Hope during this section, that is probably on purpose - it has been revealed that the next season of Fortnite will feature a lot of Star Wars content, and this was a cute little reference to that! After you finally reach Galactus’ mouth and he flashes that fancy dental work at you, Iron Man will grab you right out of the battle bus for a more scenic and less deadly look of the big finale, as the entire fleet of battle busses descend down his throat. In a big green explosion, he loses control of the Zero Point and fades away - as does the screen. Fortnite is currently temporarily unavailable until the start of Season 5!
