What Kind of Animals Are Available in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6?
As of the moment, there are four animals available on the map in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6: frogs, wolves, chickens, and wild board. But, considering Epic Games’ penchant for continuously adding new things to the game, we can expect this list to grow in time. With that said, of the four animals currently available in Fortnite, you can only tame three. It shouldn’t take an expert to know that it’s the frog that you can’t tame right now as they’re not exactly infamous for being dangerous nor lethal.
How Do You Tame Animals in Fortnite?
As we’ve already mentioned previously, you can now start taming animals in Fortnite except for the frogs. Before anything else though, we’d like to recommend that you take the time to craft yourself a hunting cloak first. Although these won’t exactly render you invisible, having one does come in handy as it makes it easier to sneak up on the numerous animals now available in Fortnite. Also, while the animals can be found in other places on Fortnite’s newly-revamped map, they’re easiest to stop in the wild regions.
How To Tame a Wild Board in Fortnite
The first thing that you’ll want to do is to hunt down a boar first in the wild regions of The Island. Then, once you’ve found it, hide far away enough that you’re outside of its line of sight. Once done, simply throw a vegetable or fruit near it so you can sneak up behind the wild boar and tame it by simply holding the interact button down.
How to Tame a Chicken in Fortnite
Similar to the wild boar, taming a chicken requires that you find one in the wild regions of The Island. But, unlike the wild board, chickens are relatively easy to tame. You can literally run faster than them. All you need to do is to chase that chicken down and you’ll have yourself a tamed chicken in no time.
How to Tame a Wolf in Fortnite
One of the hardest animals to tame in Fortnite right now is the wolf. For this, you can’t use vegetables or fruits. Instead, you’ll need a brand new in-game resource known as “meat” to lure a wolf and make it put its guard down. Make sure that there aren’t other wolves nearby and that you’re as careful as possible while sneaking from up behind the wolf. Also, you’ll have better luck trying to tame a lone wolf wandering outside of its pack instead of a wolf whose pack you just took down. They’re more likely to want to tear your face off rather than eat the meat you just tossed in front of them if they saw you hunting down its friends. If successful, you’ll be able to hold the interact button down for a couple of seconds so you can tame your own wolf.
How to Tame a Raptor in Fornite
Finding wild animals like Raptors isn’t as easy compared to some of the other animals in Fortnite. They tend to spawn in different places every time and are highly prized, so you’re not going to be alone when looking for one. However, there are players that claim that these agile bipedal dinosaurs tend to congregate near the dinosaur eggs scattered all over the map, which makes sense. Either way, if you’re hunting for Raptors, make sure that you’re well-equipped. Otherwise, you might find yourself in a world of trouble as the Raptors tend to call out to other dinosaurs once it knows you’ve seen it. In addition, Raptors also tend to roam in pairs, are fairly aggressive, and can do roughly around 20-30 points worth of damage every time you get hit. Thankfully, they’re not exactly that hard to tame. All you need to do is to leave some meat for one to pick up, approach it from behind, interact with it, and that’s it. The real challenge when taming a Raptor in Fortnite is to make sure that you exercise stealth.
What Happens If You Tame Animals in Fortnite?
Taming a wolf or wild boar pet will give you a companion for the rest of the match. They’ll fight for you and attack other players. Sure, they’re not as dangerous when tamed as they once were when you were trying to tame them, but they’re still pretty handy. However, if you tamed a Raptor, you’ll have a far more aggressive companion with you that could easily take out unwary players. On the other hand, taming a chicken will let you jump higher than normal and fall much more slowly down when you’re jumping from up high. So, as you can see, there isn’t really that big of an advantage to having a tamed animal in Fortnite. Although, we do think that Epic Games might buff this mechanic soon enough. But, if it’s any consolation, at least you get a friend to keep you company if only until they die or you die or won’t the game. Hopefully, with this new mechanic proving to be a lot more fun than most players would like to admit, Epic Games decides to push through with their promise to add larger creatures in the future.
