Of course, it’s not all bad news. Just as the Xbox Game Pass will axe a handful of games, it will also make way for new ones. Although we can’t exactly say that this month’s incoming games will wow you, there are a handful of sleeper hits that are well worth your time (and the Game Pass subscription fee). Here’s a list of everything headed to Microsoft’s games-on-demand streaming platform in the coming weeks.

As our headline suggests, the most notable game on the list is Immortals: Fenyx Rising. This criminally underrated title from Ubisoft didn’t get much attention in late 2020. Most audiences felt like it was too derivative of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild with a heavy dose of the typical large-scale Ubisoft game design. But, those who’ve played through the game (and its lovely DLCs) can attest that it’s more than just a “copy”. With Breath of the Wild 2’s release date still up in the air, Fenyx Rising should help tide you over until then. Other games like Coffee Talk, VA-11 HALL-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action, and Opus: Echo of Starsong are more indie than underrated. They might not be your cup of tea (or coffee), but you might as well give them a shot. Opus, in particular, is a narrative-heavy game that the more lore-oriented gamers might appreciate. Ultimately, August’s offerings is light on the budget but they’re bountiful in enjoyment. In other news, Microsoft shot down rumors that Elden Ring will be on the Game Pass. Also, the tech giant is claiming that Sony is purposely paying developers so that they do not add their games to the Game Pass. Sony has yet to reply to the said allegations.
