What’s new in Jurassic World Evolution 2?
Jurassic World Evolution 2 should feel familiar to anyone who played Jurassic World Evolution previously. It retains the same base building and theme park management mechanics that made the game such a huge hit. Naturally, part of your job as the owner of your own dinosaur theme park is to plan out which exhibits go where and making sure that your visitors are happy, as well as alive. However, Jurassic World Evolution 2 will make several key improvements over its predecessor. For one, there are now multiple settings available in the game. Instead of just the Muertes Archipelago, Jurassic World Evolution 2 lets players build their dream zoos across dense forests and scorched deserts, among others. Of course, just because you can build on new environments doesn’t mean that it’s going to get easy. If anything, each unique environment poses its own challenge that you’ll have to overcome. For example, if you put up your theme park in snowy and mountainous areas, you’ll have to prepare for snow and snowstorms. Likewise, if your theme park is in the desert, you can expect to deal with the occasional sandstorm or two. According to Frontier, players will have access to “deeper management tools and creative options” in Jurassic World Evolution 2. There are also more dinosaurs to breed and show off this time around. However, the expanded roster also means that you’ll have more gargantuan creatures to manage and plan for as you make sure that your exhibits are as attractive as they are guest-friendly. You’ll have a total of 75 prehistoric species to show off and exhibit in Jurassic World Evolution 2. It is safe to say that managing your own theme park is going to be a massive undertaking. However, Frontier made sure to keep it fun. Case in point, there is a new narrative campaign. The story is set following the events of 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. There’s also the all-new Chaos Theory mode. This lets you relive some of the most iconic moments from the multiple films in the Jurassic World franchise. With the return of the fan-favorite Sandbox mode, as well as a new Challenge mode, those who are looking for a base building simulator will find their money’s worth in Jurassic World Evolution 2.
