Technically, Gosling put his name up for consideration first. Gosling recently denied rumors that he’s set to star as Nova in the MCU. In the same interview, Gosling revealed that he’d like to join the MCU as Ghost Rider. It appears that Feige and Gosling got a chance to talk to each other not too long after. According to MTV News’ Josh Horowitz, Feige shared that he’d “love to find a place for [Ryan] in the MCU.”
Ryan and I chatted about the Nova rumors yesterday which he said aren’t true. BUT this morning Ryan reached out to me to say there is one superhero he wants to play…GHOST RIDER pic.twitter.com/1jnC5ht4UY — Josh Horowitz (@joshuahorowitz) July 12, 2022 Feige announced several new MCU projects at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, including the entire Phase 5 slate and the trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. So, if Gosling joins the MCU, we might have to wait until the next SDCC to find out. Unfortunately, Gosling’s schedule might make it difficult for him to join the MCU. Gosling is currently starring alongside Chris Evans in the Russo Brothers film, The Gray Man, on Netflix. The action thriller film is expected to spawn at least one sequel and spin-off with Gosling in tow. In addition to this, Gosling is also busy filming Greta Gerwig’s Barbie alongside Margot Robbie, among several others. Then again, we can never say for sure with the MCU. Nobody expected Charlize Theron to join the billion-dollar cinematic universe and she’s part of the MCU now. We’re pretty sure Feige and Gosling can make something work if they really want to have Gosling play the Ghost Rider in a future MCU film. In the meantime, fans can look forward to watching another Ryan join the MCU, probably in Phase 6. Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3 is expected to signal his arrival in the MCU.
