It also doesn’t help Cyberpunk 2077’s case that leaks such as the recent internal footage keep on popping up, showing all the in-game bugs present across the many years that game was in development.

What Did the Leaked Cyberpunk 2077 Pre-Alpha Footage Show?

Cyberpunk 2077 launched a little over six months ago after being in development for roughly around 9 years. Naturally, during this time, Cyberpunk 2077 went through its fair share of rough patches in development. However, because of how it launched as a broken mess, people just can’t seem to get tired of talking about what went wrong with it. The recent leaked Cyberpunk 2077 pre-alpha footage only adds fuel to the proverbial fire. The leak reportedly contained a compilation of videos created by QA devs for Cyberpunk 2077 that detailed all the numerous bugs in the game just months before its worldwide release. According to CD Projekt Red developer Slava Lukyanenka in a now-deleted tweet, this isn’t actually the case. He claims that the videos were “compositions of bug materials” from “years of development”. Either way, none of the three videos, which are between 3 minutes to 6 minutes long, paint CDPR in a good light. Many if not all of the bugs shown in the leaked footage are identical to what players experienced for themselves when Cyberpunk 2077 was launched. This meant that CD Projekt Red was well aware that Cyberpunk 2077 was an incomplete game. The fact that the studio decided to launch the game despite it all makes it that much harder for CDPR to recover from the hole they dug themselves in with Cyberpunk 2077. Keep in mind that there are still several lawsuits ongoing filed against CD Projekt Red’s parent companies, and it’s not just a couple of gamers filing these lawsuits. It’s composed of CD Projekt shareholders and other parties. The lawsuits could use these videos as evidence that CD Projekt Red deliberately launched Cyberpunk 2077 despite being incomplete. Whether or not that will indeed happen is out of our hands at this point. One thing that we do know is that the most recent issue with Cyberpunk 2077 will make it even less likely that the game will make its way back to the PS Store. Here’s to hoping that these leaked videos don’t spell the end for CD Projekt Red as a company.
