Kepler Interactive was founded by the executive team of the global independent video game fund Kowloon Knights. “When we founded Kowloon Nights, our goal was to support the next generation of independent developers,” said Alexis Garavaryan, CEO of Kepler Interactive. “The evolution of that work is now Kepler, which takes the developer‑first approach a major leap forward in terms of scale and empowerment.” It seems Kepler Interactive doesn’t plan to stop with just seven developers and intends on expanding by welcoming more partner studios and diving into other media platforms.

Kepler has managed to gather $120 million in funding for their future endeavors. Part of the reason for a developer-run company is to have creative freedom and make what you want instead of limiting your imagination based on the publisher’s wishes. Kepler Interactive aims to give each developer company a say in the strategic decisions, molding their projects into what they want before publishing.

In the announcement, Kepler Interactive’s business model was discussed, and included a list of games expected to release next year. Interestingly enough, the upcoming horror game, Scorn, was also on the 2022 expected release list. Ebb Software has not commented on the matter, nor given any official announcement about the delay, but Microsoft recently announced that Scorn would be joining the Xbox Game Pass on October 12, 2021. This further proves that a delay to 2022 is inevitable. Besides, the developers haven’t shared anything new with fans ever since last year’s gameplay reveal. Even if the game is slated for 2022, it shouldn’t come as a surprise considering the lack of news from the developers. Scorn has been delayed several times. The game was initially planned to be released in 2017 but was delayed as the developers decided to expand. In addition, the developers decided to release the game for current-gen only, which added to the constant delays. This time around, while the idea of releasing a horror game during the month of October seemed appropriate, it appears that might not be the case, and Scorn might face another delay.
