The June 2 State of Play was a big deal as it saw the reveal of several upcoming games such as Resident Evil 4 Remake, The Last of Us Part 1, Marvel’s Spider-Man on the PC as well as better looks at Street Fighter 6 and Final Fantasy 16 and a slew of upcoming games headed to the PSVR2. However, a big name was notably absent from the event: God of War: Ragnarok Even if several parties insist that Santa Monica Studio’s follow-up is still coming this year, many fans are still concerned. But, it appears that this unrest will end soon. According to the freelance journalist and industry insider, Sony could hold a second State of Play next week to highlight God of War: Ragnarok, among other things, pointing out proof from other credible sources like Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier and Gran Turismo producer, Kaz Yamauchi.

For example, Sony announced a lineup of upcoming games at the March 9 State of Play such as Valkyrie Elysium and Exoprimal, among others. Then, a few weeks later, Sony had another State of Play event albeit this one was exclusive to Hogwarts Legacy. Judging from what we’ve heard, this is most likely going to be the case for the State of Play for next week. Ultimately, all we have to go on is chatter and grapevine talk. But, at the same time, there’s too many people saying all the same things for this to be a coincidence. Since Sony usually holds its State of Play showcases on a Wednesday (or Thursday, depending on where you live), we should hear an official announcement in the next few days.
