After weeks of rumors about a certain bald genius-level intellect psychic appearing on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness alongside the rest of the Illuminati, the latest trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness all but confirms the reports. The Sam Raimi-directed Marvel Cinematic Universe film got a new trailer that featured a more detailed look at the fallout caused by Benedict Cumberbatch’s attempt to help out Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Speaking of, No Way Home has gone on to become the sixth-highest grossing box office film of all time and is on track to do $1.8 billion before it’s all said and done.
Moon Knight
After the trippy new footage of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness comes Oscar Isaac’s Disney+ Moon Knight. Although this isn’t the first look we’ve gotten of the upcoming MCU show and the shorter trailer might not have as many twists and surprises as its bigger MCU counterpart, but, hey, who’s complaining?
Jurassic World Dominion
Human stupidity will always find a way. Yes, that’s not the quote, but that’s the bottom line of what’s going on in Jurassic World Dominion. Several decades after humans left the now-defunct multiple dinosaur-breeding islands from the original Jurassic Park trilogy, someone decided to open the islands up to a much larger audience and turn it into a deadlier version of Disneyland. Things were okay for a while, as the park in 2015’s Jurassic World was already operational for a decade. Unfortunately, things happened and by the time 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ended, the status quo had changed and humans went from apex predator to helpless prey. Such is the premise of Jurassic World Dominion, which was part of the star-studded slate of trailers at Super Bowl LVI. The new trailer follows up on the one released earlier, which sees the original Jurassic Park trio reunite alongside BD Wong’s Dr. Henry Wu, who is pretty much established as the series’ overarching villain at this point.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
Nope
After scaring the bejesus out of everyone with Get Out and Us, the brilliantly horrific mind of Jordan Peele is back with another horror thriller. Nope stars Keke Palmer, Daniel Kaluuya, and Steve Yeun, in an epic film that hints at a devastating chain of events that will catch unsuspecting residents and audiences alike by surprise. Nope will premiere in theaters on July 22, 2022.
The Lost City
In what has to be one of the most unlikely trio of stars to come together for a film, Sandra Bullock is a romance novelist who finds herself venturing into a jungle on the behest of Daniel Radcliffe’s eccentric billionaire character. Meanwhile, Channing Tatum decides that he can rescue Sandra Bullock even though he’s got zero experience, talent, or skills.
The Adam Project
After starring together with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Gal Gadot in Red Notice, which, by the way, is getting back-to-back sequels, Ryan Reynolds is back with Netflix to work on The Adam Project. The film stars the Deadpool actor in a time-travel adventure where he seeks the help of his 12-year-old self, who is portrayed by Walker Scobell, in an attempt to make sense of where Zoe Saldana’s Laura has gone.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Sega’s mascot is back with another trailer in a follow-up to his sequel cinematic debut from 2020. But, unlike the first film, where Ben Schwartz’s Sonic is facing off against Jim Carrey’s surprisingly effective Doctor Robotnik, his greatest nemesis, Idris Elba’s Knuckles, has joined to settle the score with him once and for all.
Ambulance
Michael Bay’s back to his explosive heist-gone-wrong antics as he takes his version of Los Angeles for a spin starring Yahya Abudal Matten II and Jake Gyllenhaal in a thrilling action movie that features an ambulance.
Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty
Basketball documentaries are a big hit these days. Case in point, Netflix’s The Last Dance, which shone the spotlight on what many consider the greatest dynasty in basketball history, the 90’s Chicago Bulls led by Michael Jordan. Fast forward to two years later and basketball fans will get a chance to watch another dynasty take center stage in Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty. Winning Time is a film about how a young Magic Johnson brought back the glitz and glamor to a Los Angeles Lakers team that he’d go on to guide for the better part of the next two decades.
